Who are We?

MANDATE

    The Council on Aging of Ottawa is a bilingual, non-profit, voluntary organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all seniors in Ottawa.

    The Council on Aging works with and for seniors in the community to voice issues and concerns to all levels of government and to the general public.

    The Council on Aging depends on volunteer time and effort given by seniors, community representatives, professionals and their agencies.

    The Council on Aging through the work of its Board of Directors, Committees, Task Forces, Working Groups, and staff:

    • provides expertise on seniors' issues
    • promotes development of effective programs and services for seniors
    • serves as a partner in the planning and coordination of seniors' services
    • speaks to government on policy and funding priorities
    • promotes public understanding and awareness of seniors' issues.
